Hi. I'm Bailee and I had a medication abortion in Ohio in 2019.

I found out I was pregnant when I missed my period for 12 days, and my first thought was, "I’m not ready for this. I’m too young and have lots of medical issues.” I decided to have a medication abortion because I wasn’t ready financially, mentally, or physically.

I received my abortion pills through telehealth.

From start to finish, the process was easy, helpful, normal. I took the pills at home in my living room, and I felt scared but hopeful. I was scared it would hurt me. What surprised me most was it doesn’t hurt, it felt like a period.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to live life normally for longer. I felt in control of my own anatomy.

I’m sharing my story because I hate how people try to tell me how to handle my body. Nobody should feel out of control of their decisions and bodies.

Medication abortion is helpful, is normal, and it should be there for everyone.
