Hi. I'm G, and I had a medication abortion in Illinois in 2020.

I found out I was pregnant when I took a test after being late, and my first thought was: "FUCK. " I decided to have a medication abortion because I had only been with the person for a short time, and I didn’t want a baby with.

I received my abortion pills at a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was traumatic. I took the pills at home, and I felt deflated. What surprised me most was THAT IT DID NOT WORK. WOMEN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SMALL FAILURE RATE.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to continue living my life and keep my puppy that I had just adopted. I felt overwhelmed.
