Hi, My Name Is Jennifer.
Hi. I'm Jennifer, and I had a medication abortion in Ohio in 2024.
I found out I was pregnant when I missed my period, and my first thought was, "I am 43. I am not having a child now. I am poor and an alcoholic. Bringing a child into this world is not healthy or responsible." I decided to have a medication abortion because it was available to me and a safe at-home option.
I received my abortion pills from an organization.
From start to finish, the process was safe, easy, and accessible. I took the pills at home, and I felt like I had a very bad case of cramps. Nothing serious. I was at peace and supported by my husband. What surprised me most was how nice and wonderful it was to have an at-home option.
Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to not have to find a clinic. I felt relief.
I'm sharing my story because procreation shouldn't be legislated.
Medication abortion is safe and saved my life.
