Hi, My Name Is Potato Farm.

Hi. I'm Potato Farm and I had a medication abortion in California in 2006.

I found out I was pregnant when I got sick from smells that normally would be inviting or normal, and my first thought was, "No, no, NO GAWD NO this was not supposed to happen especially not NOW.” I decided to have a medication abortion because I was not prepared financially, emotionally, and certainly not with the guy involved. I had medical reasons I avoided pregnancy with birth control also.

I received my abortion pills through a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was autonomous, dignified healthcare. I took the pills at home, and I felt relieved and grateful. What surprised me most was I got to do it at home with confidence and ease to go back to work quickly.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to work on myself and independence to eventually be in a solid enough situation financially and emotionally to also have access to supportive healthcare for a successful pregnancy later. I felt peaceful relief, like a big weight was lifted.

I’m sharing my story because it’s my right - we MUST speak up, I won't go silently giving it away! My experiences and choices are mine just like yours are yours.

Medication abortion life-affirming, safe, normal, and should remain accessible and legal in all forms.
