Hi, My Name Is Sarah.

Hi. I'm Sarah and I had a medication abortion in New York in 2026.

I found out I was pregnant when I felt nauseous walking my toddler home from daycare, and my first thought was, "I’m so excited!” I decided to have a medication abortion because only a month later, I found out my pregnancy was not progressing and that I had a spontaneous miscarriage. I waited several weeks, but the tissue would not leave my body naturally.

I received my abortion pills through a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was scary, personal, and empowering. I took the pills at home , and I felt relief that I no longer had to carry around my miscarried child. What surprised me most was how easily the medication could do what my body on its own was not able to.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to move forward in my journey to becoming a mom of two. I felt relief that I could be proactive in my healthcare.

I'm sharing my story because mifepristone is a medication that safely does what women’s bodies sometimes can’t. And because there are so many misconceptions about how it’s used.

Medication abortion is a vital component of women’s healthcare.
