Hi. I'm E, and I had a medication abortion in NY in 2015.

I found out I was pregnant when I just felt different, and my first thought was: "Fuck, I just broke up with this guy. I loved him so much, but he didn't feel the same." I decided to have a medication abortion because I knew I didn't want to force a relationship with this man. We both deserved better.

I received my abortion pills at a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was straightforward, uncomplicated, and medical. I took the pills at the clinic and at home, and I felt a little nervous. What surprised me most was that I had to wait a week to take the meds because I was so early in the pregnancy.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to move on and keep the life I built. I felt sad but relieved.

I'm sharing my story because no one else knows it, and I wish they did.
