Hi, My Name Is Hannah.

Hi. I'm Hannah and I had a medication abortion in Illinois in 2016.

I found out I was pregnant when I missed my period and took a pregnancy test, and my first thought was, "fuck. What do I do?” I decided to have a medication abortion because I was about to finish college. I was the first in my family to graduate college and I had goals I knew would be postponed/eliminated if I chose to have a baby.

I received my abortion pills through a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was lonely, but accessible. I took the pills at my apartment, and I felt lonely, in pain, and afraid to be by myself. What surprised me most was how quick the process was from the moment I went to the clinic. My self-managed abortion, including receiving and taking the pills, took about 8 days.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to finish college and get a masters, travel, leave my abusive relationship for good, and follow every whim and every dream I had. I felt relief and freedom.

I'm sharing my story because no one should feel anything they don't want to feel about their medication abortion. It can be a safe and accessible way to access abortion.

Medication abortion gives you choice in your life!
