Hi, My Name is Jessica.
Hi. I'm Jessica, and I had a medication abortion in TX, in 2026.
I found out I was pregnant when I missed my period, and my first thought was: "That's impossible. We are safe. We track my cycle and use protection...but perimenopause doesn't care. She releases eggs at her will." I decided to have a medication abortion because I never wanted children. My partner and I never wanted children. We never wanted to bring children into this world...maybe another one, but not this one.
I received my abortion pills in the mail.
From start to finish, the process was easy, clear, and nonjudgmental. I took the pills at my yoga studio, and I felt sadness and relief. What surprised me most was how normal it felt. Just like a regular cycle with maybe a little more blood...but not scary.
Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to continue to serve my community, provide love and support for children and families in need, and keep the life I had worked so hard to create. I felt Peace. I'm sharing my story because the government shouldn't have a say about what I want to do with and for my body and life.
Medication abortion is safe and should be available for anyone who has to make this incredibly challenging decision.
