Hi, My Name Is Nicole.

Hi. I'm Nicole and I had a medication abortion in Pennsylvania in 2011.

I found out I was pregnant when I was so sick I couldn't work or study, and my first thought was, "I am not ready for this.” I decided to have a medication abortion because I was graduating college and ready to start my life and career. My boyfriend and I were trying to figure out what graduation meant for us and we definitely were not ready for that level of commitment.

I received my abortion pills through a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was empowering but harder than it needed to be. I took the pills at home, and I felt safe and thankful to have that experience privately where I felt most comfortable. What surprised me most was the unnecessary restrictions put in place by the state and people protesting outside.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to build a life I am proud of and create two perfect children when I was ready for our family. I felt peace of mind and a complete sense of relief.

I’m sharing my story because no one should feel alone or ashamed, or be without access themselves.

Medication abortion is safe and effective and should be easily accessible to all in need of it.
