Hi, My Name Is Jess.
Hi. I'm Jess and I had a medication abortion in Idaho in 2017 and 2019.
I found out I was pregnant when my period was late and my breasts were sore, and my first thought was being terrified, sad, unprepared, and fearful of pain- I had terrible endometriosis at the time. I decided to have a medication abortion because I do not want to be a parent, the pains of pregnancy and childbirth would have been terrible for me, and I believe kids should have parents who want them 100 percent.
I received my abortion pills through a clinic.
From start to finish, the process was private, respectful of my choice. I took the pills at at home, bed, and bathroom, and I felt pain during the experience, waves of sadness, and also certainty that it was the right choice. What surprised me most was the relief I felt for me and the potential child.
Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to continue attending college and healing my body. I felt relief.
I'm sharing my story because abortions are health care, not to be taken lightly, while still common!
Medication abortion is important health care.
