Hi. I'm Pep, and I had a medication abortion in IL in 2021.

I found out I was pregnant when a missed period was NOT because of perimenopause, and my first thought was: "Holy crap…I’m 47!" I decided to have a medication abortion because I was happy with the size of my family.

I received my abortion pills at a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was discreet. I took the pills at home, and I felt relaxed and comfortable with my decision. What surprised me most was a medicated abortion felt just like a regular (slightly heavier) period.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to get cancer treatment a year later while not having to care for a young child. I felt in control of my life choices.
