Hi, My Name is Sarah.

Hi. I'm Sarah, and I had a medication abortion in another country in 2025.

I found out I was pregnant when I missed my period, and my first thought was: "No, no, no, I don’t want this." I decided to have a medication abortion because I was about to turn 29 and with my partner of 7 years, but I was not ready to upend my life, my career, and my plans. Planning your future and setting yourself up to be a stable and secure parent is what I want, and I was not ready for that last year. Also, I had things I wanted to do and places to see on the other side of the world, and that matters because it’s my life and my choice.

I received my abortion pills through Telehealth.

From start to finish, the process was smooth, easy, and supported. I took the pills at home on the weekend with my long-term boyfriend by my side, and I felt discomfort but overwhelming relief when it was over. What surprised me most was the process, which was simple and efficient, enabling me to return to work as normal on Monday.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to travel to Southeast Asia at the start of this year, where I went zip-lining, hiking, and hot air ballooning. I felt relieved.

I'm sharing my story because every pregnant person should have control over their bodies and futures. The medical abortion saved me from bringing a child into the world that I would resent, and I want to give my future child the best upbringing and loving home in the world.

Medication abortion is lifesaving, and I am so grateful to the professional and caring providers of this medication.
