Hi. I'm Erica and I had a medication abortion in Indiana in 2014.

I found out I was pregnant when I missed my cycle, and my first thought was, "This is not the right time.” I decided to have a medication abortion because my boyfriend at the time told me about the option bc his sister had had one. I was originally planning on getting the standard abortion, but this seemed to much better.

I received my abortion pills through a clinic.

From start to finish, the process was easy, private, and safe. I took the pills at home, and I felt in control and comfortable. What surprised me most was why this not a more talked about option.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to reduce the physical pain and also reduce the mental pain because I didn't have to experience as intense of physical pain as a standard abortion. I felt relief.

I'm sharing my story because this should always be available, for everyone.
