Hi, My Name is Jane Doe.

Hi. I'm Jane Doe, and I had a medication abortion in Indiana in 2026.

I found out I was pregnant when I randomly thought to take a test, and my first thought was: "My addiction genes will not be passed on." I decided to have a medication abortion because many people in my family have struggled with addiction their whole lives. I do not want to pass it on. No person deserves to live with addiction. Getting clean was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But I didn’t get a choice whether I had an addiction or not. It was passed on to me like a birthright. I refuse to be the cause of a child’s hardship.

I received my abortion pills by mail.

From start to finish, the process was private, simple, and life-changing. I took the pills at home, and I felt relieved. What surprised me most was that there would be any shame in choosing this option.

Because I had access to medication abortion, I was able to save a child’s life from the hardships of addiction. I felt relieved.

I'm sharing my story because everyone deserves this option.

Medication abortion saves lives.
