These Pills Are My Safety Net

I have multiple autoimmune diseases and take serious medication, including methotrexate. Methotrexate can cause serious birth defects and complications in pregnancy. Because of this, I used an organization to obtain “advanced provision” abortion pills to have on hand. I am not pregnant, and I have not had to use them yet, and my hope is that I never will. But with abortion rights on the political chopping block, I, like many others, fear a future where these drugs may become more difficult or impossible to access. I feel much more secure knowing I have the drug. I use birth control as well, but we all know 99.99% effective still isn't 100%; there's always a chance. Having this drug in my medicine cabinet gives me a feeling of empowerment over my own body and my own choices.
